Belgian artist Samuel Coisne interweaves between mediums and plays with different materials. In his sculptures, installations and images, one can find simplicity, lightness and poetry, alongside which he plays a game of codes, rerouting us, giving an alternative or offbeat look on the objects which surround us.
The town is a recurrent issue in his work, giving both violent and fragile backgrounds. Broken windows become embroidery, spider webs draw the towns cartography, lace cards, networks of strings intertwining, reminding us everything hangs by a thread. Precarious positioning…
The residency will be followed by an exhibition at la malterie.
