The Caravan Gallery

The Caravan Gallery is a mobile exhibition venue and photography project set up in 2000 to document the ordinary and extraordinary details of everyday life in the 21st century. The Caravan Gallery has travelled thousands of miles and exhibited in hundreds of locations, from local shopping centres to international art biennials, welcoming the most diverse audience imaginable. Williams and Teasdale are interested in sense of place and their radar is finely tuned to identify themes and notice the small, sometimes bizarre, details – often overlooked by local people – that give places character.

Their observations appear in books, ‘alternative’ tourist guides and reality postcards. Visitors to The Caravan Gallery will be invited to see Zwalm and its environs in a new light through the photographs and publications produced in response to their exploration of the area.
